Native to Herndon and son of Virginia, Doug remembers seeing his parent’s American dream unfold within our town. That’s what he’s fighting for–to fight for our neighbors and make sure they have the local resources to fulfill their American dream.
Doug knows firsthand the essential role our small businesses play in Herndon. As our small businesses continue to reel from the pandemic and stretch their resources thin because of the current shape of our economy, Doug plans to be a staunch supporter of our small businesses who without them our local economy wouldn’t grow.
As a bilingual nurse in the community, Doug knows the barriers and challenges our neighbors face when accessing local care. He understands the need to maintain and improve the community’s health for all age groups, because the health of our neighbors is our city’s biggest wealth.
A Marymount Nursing alumni, Mejia knows the importance of education, but more importantly the opportunity to pursue education and an economy that works for all of Herndon. He hopes to earn your vote advocating for the needs of the community, not special interests.
Family means a lot to Doug. He's had family in the region for a long time. He's a resident of Virginia who knows our needs. That's why he's not only honored but best qualified to serve on the Town Council of Herndon.
